Cathay Cargo wins three more industry accolades

The award wins recognise Cathay Cargo’s service, expertise and contribution to sustainable operations

Cathay Cargo has been among the awards again, picking up three significant industry accolades in recent months.

The Cathay Cargo team is deeply honoured to have been named The Best Cargo Airline – Asia at the Air Cargo News Awards, as voted for by readers of Air Cargo News, one of Europe’s leading trade titles. Regional Head of Cargo for Europe Jansen Stafford was on hand to pick up the award at the ceremony in London.

Then, hot of the press, Cathay Cargo picked up the Global Carrier of the Year – Top Award at the 10th edition of the Payload Asia Awards 2023, held in Singapore at the end of October. This is the ultimate accolade for carriers in the awards and follows on winning the regional award for Asia Pacific at the ceremony last year.

This year’s awards were decided both by online votes and the evaluation of a jury panel of industry experts. New Regional Head of Cargo, Southeast Asia Ashish Kapur collected the award on behalf of the Cathay Cargo team.

Kapur also collected another award at another event held in Singapore, this time related to Cathay Cargo’s sustainability work. This includes establishing the Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme and extending the wider Cathay Group’s Fly Greener initiative to include cargo shipments in its carbon-offset programme. This was recognised in the award of the Best Green Air Cargo Carrier prize at the 2023 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards.

‘It has been thrilling to be recognised in this way by our industry peers, the trade press, readers and air-cargo customers,’ said Director Cargo Tom Owen. ‘To win these awards in the year that we relaunched our Cathay Cargo brand, while introducing more enhancements to our special solutions and hitting more milestones on our digitalisation journey is especially pleasing.

‘These wins give us confidence that we are well underway with our vision of becoming the world’s most customer-centric air-cargo service brand. I am hugely appreciative of the hard work of our Cathay Cargo team across the world to whom these awards really belong, to our customers, suppliers and everyone who voted for us.’
