The wholly owned Cathay Pacific Group subsidiary carrier flew the first COVID-19 vaccine shipment from Hong Kong, landing at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the evening.
‘It was a very proud moment to see our aircraft delivering this first vaccine shipment into the Philippines,’ said Cathay Pacific Philippines Country Manager Donald Morris. ‘I would like to personally thank everyone for their hard work and dedication.’
‘It was an honour to facilitate the transportation of these vaccines to the Philippines,’ said Clarence Tai, Chief Operating Officer of Air Hong Kong. ‘We’ve been planning to have vaccines on our aircraft for a long time and this is a great first step. There will definitely be more shipments of this kind from Air Hong Kong into other parts of Asia.’
